Mazda BT-50 2020+ (D-Max version)

Mazda's latest generation BT-50 was released in 2021 as the first collaboration with Isuzu after ending the association with Ford. This car has great features with a long pedigree in off-road toughness and is a strong package for towing and off-road work. With the addition of a Lovells GVM/GCM Upgrade it's even more capable with 500Kg more payload capacity for setting up your rig with plenty of accessories and still towing your big van or boat.

TWO GCM OPTIONS & TWO SHOCK ABSORBER OPTIONS - which one is right for me?

GCM OPTION:-

Through their rigorous testing Lovells discovered that the D-Max/BT-50 twins - under severe conditions such as very long hill climbs - can begin to overheat and reduce power. Lovells have therefore created two versions of the GCM Upgrade kit focused towards differing customer needs.

Option 1: 6200Kg GCM is geared towards customers who will primarily be using the GVM Upgrade to offset weight on their vehicle and mostly only tow moderate loads.

Option 2: 6900Kg GCM is aimed at customers who are regularly towing big loads or want the peace of mind knowing they're going to get maximum performance in all conditions. This kit is the same as the 6600 GCM version however also includes a larger engine radiator and intercooler for better cooling when the going gets tough. Add a transmission cooler for even greater confidence (optional extra at additional cost).

Shock Absorber OPTION:-

Option 3: Touring Shock Technology utilises a conventional twin-tube shock absorber specifically valved to suit the BT-50 and Lovells' spring rates for the GVM Upgrade. These are non-adjustable heavy duty shock absorbers manufactured to Lovells' exacting specifications and backed by a three (3) Year, 70,000km warranty.

Option 2: Platinum Shock Technology incorporates adjustable damping control into a mono-tube design with remote fluid reservoir for maximum cooling and fade resistance. This premium design of shock absorber will take you further on the roughest of roads without fading and has 8-step adjustment to help you tune the ride to suit your preferences. Warranty on the Platinum series of products is four (4) years or 100,000km.

What else do I need to know?

With a new GVM above 3500Kg the BT-50 must be fitted with a special type of side indicator known as Category 6 (CAT6). On registered vehicles they may be incorporated in Clearview's Compact or Next-Gen mirrors (at additional cost). For Pre-Registration fitment they MUST be added to the front mudguards.
